Ganúsí

A social app that turns "wait, where's the party?" into a one-tap answer.

Summary

Ganúsí helps people discover Owambe, weddings, birthdays, and parties happening around them, then RSVP, chat, and relive the moment, all in one place.

Result: An app that replaced scattered group-chat event discovery with a single feed people could actually trust, and an RSVP flow simple enough that saying "yes" took one tap, not a group chat debate.

Role: UI/UX Designer

Timeline: 3 Weeks

Focus Areas: Product UX, Interaction Design, Event Flows, Social Features, Visual Design

The Problem

People don't miss parties because they're uninterested, they miss them because discovery is scattered and RSVPs are confusing. Real user quotes:

"I didn't even know this was happening."
"I want to see who's going before I decide."
"Where is the location again?"

Research & Insights

People attend more when they see friends attending → social proof drives the "yes" decision more than the event itself

  • Clear event cards (date, time, location) reduce hesitation → missing info is missing intent to attend

  • One-tap RSVP increases engagement → every extra step is a chance for someone to just... not

  • Dress code clarity removes the "should I go?" hesitation → uncertainty about fit-in is a real reason people skip events

  • Live chats and reactions make events feel alive before arrival → anticipation itself drives attendance.

The Solution

"Near You" feed with clear categoriesOutcome: turned scattered word-of-mouth discovery into a single reliable place to check

Personal RSVP states with friendly copy ("You're in! See you at the wedding on March 15")Outcome: made committing to attend feel personal, which increases actual show-up rates, not just RSVP counts

Full event details (dress code, map, add to calendar, share)Outcome: removed every logistical excuse for not showing up

Simple event creation flowOutcome: lowered the barrier for hosts to actually list their event instead of relying on group chats

Live comments, reactions, multi-guest live modesOutcome: built anticipation and FOMO before the event even started, driving more people to check in

Profiles with saved, created, and upcoming events plus memoriesOutcome: gave users a reason to return to the app between events, not just during them

Website UI

I also created responsive website pieces and small animations that extended the Ganúsí identity across touchpoints.
